The Sprint Series of Nebraska will be heading South to US 36 Raceway in Cameron, Missouri on Friday, May 15th and then will head North on Sunday, May 17th to The New Raceway Park in Jefferson, South Dakota.
“We are excited to finally get to kick off the 1st two Sprint Series of Nebraska Races,” says Sprint Series of Nebraska coordinator Racine Hadan. “Race Tracks have been hit very hard here in Nebraska with all of the COVID-19 restrictions. Our first 3 races for the SSN Series were scheduled at Eagle Raceway, I-80 Speedway and Crawford County Speedway and were all cancelled due to the COVID-19 restrictions.”
Racine Hadan is also the Operations Manager at Eagle Raceway in Eagle, NE. “It’s pretty disappointing that we cannot race in Nebraska right now due to the 10 person rule so all of our drivers and fans have to travel to different states just to go racing. We hope that the State of Nebraska officials let us open up soon. I would think that they would want to keep the revenue in the state. We are glad that we have the Sprint Series of Nebraska going again this year, especially right now since South Dakota and Missouri are open for business.” she says, “It gives our drivers that normally race Eagle or the Sprint Series of Nebraska the opportunity to travel a little bit and get some races in.”
US 36 Raceway is a 3/8th mile high banked dirt oval in Osborn, MO. The Sprint Series of Nebraska had 4 shows scheduled there in 2019 but 2 of them rained out and it was a lot longer of a drive for some of the cars because of all of the flooding happening last year.  Everyone is excited about visiting again this week. “It’ll be nice for our drivers to be able to go racing with FANS!” says Racine.
The New Raceway Park in Jefferson, SD is a small dirt oval known for being the action track. “The Sprint Series of Nebraska had visited Raceway Park once in 2016 I believe,” Racine says, “I loved it, its something totally different for our drivers and for the fans. Raceway Park actually has new ownership since last time the SSN visited. I have gone up to Raceway Park just to watch the past two weeks, and they are really doing a great job, they speed the show right along and we are out of there by a decent time. The track surface has been great, and everyone is really friendly. I really just wanted to compliment them on how they are doing.”
Us 36 Raceway pit gates will open at 5pm with grandstands opening at 6pm. HotLaps will be at 7:30pm and Racing will be at 8:00pm. The Sprint Series of Nebraska driver checkin will end at 7:30pm. We will be having the computer draw numbers for both your heat races and feature for safety reasons. We will not be doing redraw in front of the fans like normal. Pit Passes are $35 and General Admission tickets are $20.
The New Raceway Park pit gates will open at 2PM, HotLaps will be at 5PM with Racing at 5:30PM. The Sprint Series of Nebraska driver checkin will end at 5pm. We will be having the computer draw numbers for both your heat races and feature for safety reasons. We will not be doing redraw in front of the fans like normal. Pit Passes are $40.
